Fundamentals of Google Sheets for Beginners

Google Sheets is a cloud based spreadsheet application.

Google Sheets is easy to use and it is the best online spreadsheet program.

It is free to use if you have a Google account (for personal use) or Google Workspace account (for business use).

Using it you can create, edit, and collaborate from any device.

Multiple users can edit the same spreadsheet in real time.

All changes are automatically saved.

There is Version History option to see old versions of the spreadsheet, it is sorted by date and who made the change.

You can also make the Sheets file available offline to use it without internet.

Excel files can be opened in Google Sheets and you can download Google Sheets file as .xlsx that is in Excel format.

There are many helpful add-ons available for Sheets.

To access Google sheets just go to docs.google.com

  • Click on the 3 lines at top left
  • Select Sheets
  • Click on the + icon to create blank spreadsheet or you can choose one of those templates
